What Does God Require of Me?…” Do Justly “

"...to do justly..." Micah 6:6-8

What does it mean to "Do Justice"?

It is the idea of treating people fairly and as they deserve.

It gives people – all creations of God – no matter their age, color, gender, ethnicity or nationality, their due or right.

And what is man’s due or right?  As the principle of The Golden Rule states, DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU.  Don’t be hateful and insult people just because they are hateful and insult you.  Instead treat everyone with kindness. (1 Peter 3:9)  Be as Jesus, who when they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats.  Instead he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. (1 Peter 2:23)

We are ALL made in HIS image.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created him them” (Genesis 1:27.

We are ALL acountable to HIM.

“So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God” (Romans 14:12).

We are ALL able to be saved.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16.

There is NO partiality with God.

“For there is no respect of persons with God” (Romans 2:11).

God is not impartial, neither should we be.

“My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.   For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:  Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?  Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?  But ye have despised the poor.  Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?  Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?  If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:  But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors” (James 2:1-9).

ALL can be ONE in Christ.

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28).

The Gospel is for ALL.

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 15:16).  “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16).

“Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all” (Colossians 3:11).

God wants us to treat others fairly - We have to see mankind as God sees mankind

“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets” (Matthew 7:12).
