Marriage in the Bible is mentioned and referred to as the union of a male and a female. In Genesis 2:24, man is described as leaving “his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife…” Paul’s discourse in 1 Corinthians 7 talks of a man and a woman in a marriage relationship. It talks with words as he/she and husband/wife.
God regarded Adam as incomplete in Genesis 2:18 (“…It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him”.) God did not create another man for Adam. In verse 22, God “made he a woman, and brought her unto the man“.
God created man and woman with opposite attributes. And these attributes complement one another. The woman was created for the man.
JESUS' DEFINITION OF MARRIAGE
“…from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder”.
Mark 10:6-9
Jesus defined marriage as between a male and a female.
This definition would then exclude any other union.
God told the couple, MALE and FEMALE,
"...Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth" (Genesis 1:28).
ALTHOUGH THERE ARE NO SPECIFIC SCRIPTURES DIRECTLY PROHIBITING SAME-SEX MARRIAGE, THERE ARE PLENTY OF VERSES THAT INDIRECTLY SUGGEST ITS ERROR.
HOMOSEXUALITY IS...
IMMORAL and unnatural.
IT IS AGAINST NATURE!
“…their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature; And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working that which is unseemly,…” (Romans 1:26-27).
Homosexuals are among those who are listed as unrighteous in 1 Corinthians 6:9,10, “effeminate”, that “shall not inherit the kingdom of God”.
“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, not idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, not abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God“.
The world has refused to accept Jesus as their shepherd, to seek guidance from his word. God’s word endures forever. “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35). God’s word never changes. “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever” (Isaiah 40:8)
Same sex marriage is becoming the fashion of the day, but God regards it as sin. It was regarded as sin in Bible times, and it remains sin today.
SIN HAS ITS CONSEQUENCES
The Bible gives man his standard for right living. Man is to live within the rules God has established. If man chooses to not live accordingly, the outcome of their disobedience is God's wrath.
“And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness” (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12).
MANKIND IS WITHOUT EXCUSE
God, through his creation, has revealed himself to all men. Man, chooses, in his foolishness, to worship the creature more than the creator. Because of their foolishness and rejection of truth, God will allow them to stray further and further from the truth to their own destruction.
SO DOES GOD APPROVE SAME SEX MARRIAGES?
If he fails to learn this, God will give them up to do what they think best, a choice that’s not in their spiritual best interests!
“Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts…” (Romans 1:24). “This I say therefore and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness” (Ephesians 4:17-19). “But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God” (Romans 2:5).
